Wills and Trusts Hertfordshire and Isle of Wight

Navigating the complexities of Inheritance Tax, Nil Rate Bands, Residence Nil Rate Bands, Wills and Trusts, can be a minefield, but the benefits can make a dramatic difference for your family in the days to come.
We have a range of Estate Planning solutions to help protect wealth for your chosen beneficiaries and by using Wills and Trusts we can make sure that the right people receive your gifts at the right time. Our clients need peace of mind that their Estate Planning structure is in good order and is appropriate to protect their assets for their loved ones, and will pass to them and future generations of their family, in a tax favourable way. There are many different aspects to Estate Planning and below are some of the key areas where we are able to provide valuable advice:

Wills
Your Will directs your Estate to your chosen Beneficiaries. It allows you to make specific gifts, nominate Beneficiaries, select Guardians for dependants and choose the most appropriate people to act as the Executors and Trustees of your Estate. Without a Will your wishes may not be carried out and would pass to beneficiaries via the Rules of Intestacy. Putting a Will in place, regardless of how old you are, is probably the single most important aspect of Estate Planning you can do.

Lasting Power of Attorney
A Lasting Power of Attorney allows you to nominate those closest to you to make decisions and act for you when you are unable to do so for yourself. There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney - Health and Welfare and Property and Financial Affairs. These can be daunting documents to establish so help and guidance can be invaluable when required. We offer a comprehensive service, from providing advice and taking instruction to a successful registration with the Office of the Public Guardian.

Trusts
There are a variety of arrangements available to help clients in different circumstances protect and direct assets to loved ones. This might be during their lifetime or on death, or indeed at a point beyond death. Trusts can be used alongside Wills or as a stand-alone tool for Estate Planning. We can give advice and help finding good planning solutions for individuals and families.

Not all Estate Planning solutions can be dealt with by Legacy Protection Ltd. For clients requiring a full and comprehensive review of all Estate Planning solutions we would be delighted to make an introduction to our sister company Montgomery Estate Planning Ltd, an independent financial advisory firm which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
